Freezing weather has gripped parts of Europe for more than a week, causing disruption from Russia to the Iberian Peninsula, and has in recent days turned its power on southeastern Europe. The cold snap already claimed several lives in the Balkans dying of hypothermia due to disruption of heating and power lines.
