Happy New Year!
As I open my weary eyes (I know it's my own fault) this New Years morning, my attention has been drawn to the potential for conditions turning colder at the end of this week, possibly becoming very cold early next week.
It is early days yet, but indications are that the change starts to take place on Wednesday. It won't feel particularly cold then, but eastern coasts will begin to feel chillier.
By Thursday the easterly winds will be bringing some drizzle, turning increasingly to snow flurries on eastern coasts.
By Friday the snow flurries may penetrate inland through Scotland and England, with a hint that similar conditions may prevail through the weekend. temperatures could struggle to rise above freezing.
I'll keep you updated over the coming days but for the time being, keep the sunshine shining!
Simon
