The Cold Weather Returns
Those of you reading my column yesterday will know about my highlighting the chance of a return to colder conditions at the end of this week. Well, my opinions haven't changes, and in fact, have been reinforced by the charts this morning.
High pressure looks set to build behind a cold front moving east through Tuesday and Wednesday. This may well bring a foggy day for many on Wednesday, and indeed it will be mild for Scotland and Ireland. However, by Wednesday afternoon it will start to feel colder. in the east of England.
On Thursday a real easterly wind starts to become established, blowing the colder air through England, Wales and eastern Scotland.
The cold continues through Friday and the weekend. The best way to describe the weather by then is "raw".
The question then becomes "how long will it last"? At the moment there is a risk of the cold lasting for at least a week, and I've a sneaky feeling the charts could be right!
I'll keep you updated over the coming days but for the time being, keep the sunshine shining!
Simon
