Wednesday Wash-out !

Here at the Weatheronline Weather Centre we’re keeping a close eye on conditions at the end of next week.

As we head into the first week of April you may be forgiven for thinking that spring has finally arrived. Blossoms buds are bursting, and temperatures of 20C over parts of England this weekend have signified the end of winter….well, almost!

We are closely watching developments on Wednesday of this week, when low pressure looks set to pass through Scotland, bringing unsettled weather to all parts of the UK and Ireland.

There may be some heavy rain associated with the low pressure area, perhaps bringing as much as an inch of rain to places.

Mixed with the heavy rain will be strong winds, perhaps gusting to 40mph.

The position of the low might well change during the coming day or so, but as always we will keep you informed.

Into Thursday the low clears eastwards. However, this isn’t the end of the story, because as it moves into Scandinavia, a run of very cold north to northwest winds will be introduced. Friday could be a very cold day.

These may bring wintry showers southwards through much of the UK and Ireland, most of these in the north and east.

Whatever the weather keep the sun shining!
