Fingers crossed for the weekend
After a warm Bank Holiday, its back to work for most today. However, I know youll already be thinking of the weekend ahead, so Ive been taking a look at the charts to see what the tea leaves have to offer!
For the rest of this week things look set to be staying fairly unsettled. There will be some rain for Scotland through Wednesday and Thursday, then showers on Friday.
England and Wales should be mainly dry on Wednesday and Thursday, although showery rain into northern England on Thursday night. This rain clears southern coasts of England on Friday morning, although it will be light and patchy by then. Showers follow to many northern areas.
However, the weekend is looking better. High pressure is forecast to be building into the west of Ireland. This is good news as it means most western areas are going to be dry with sunny spells. It will be feeling cool though with, with the winds in the northwest. The north and east will be staying breezy with a few heavy showers on Saturday, although should be drier for Sunday.
We do need to watch this closely though as there is a hint of some rain spreading from the northwest overnight into Monday morning. Should this move a little quicker, we may need to revise our Sunday forecast.
Whatever the weather keep the sun shining!
Simon
