Gusts already to 60mph

Low pressure centred over Ireland on Thursday morning is already bringing widespread gales to many parts of Ireland, Wales and England.

Gusts over 60mph have been reported from several stations and you can keep up-to-date with the gusts by clicking here.

Throughout the day there will be gales, with southern England and Wales at particular risk. Trees may well be blown down and with so many leaves blocking drains there is a risk of flooding.

If you are out through the course of today, do take extra care and be aware of strong gusts of winds and sudden, heavy showers.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
Simon
