Some rain, some sun, improving later
This mornings heavy rain in East Anglia and northeast England is going to be clearing away slowly during the course of the day, but watch for another pulse of rain possibly returning to Kent and Essex this evening.
The week ahead is going to be a typically mixed week. Low pressure will make the north of Scotland it's home for a few days, so after sunshine for Tuesday and Wednesday for many, rain will be affecting Scotland and Ireland late on Wednesday and into Thursday.
Probably very little rain through the Midlands and southeast England, although there could be some heavy showers in the southwest, especially through Tuesday and Wednesday.
The coming weekend is starting to look a little better, but it must be stressed that confidence in the forecast is low at the moment. Just now high pressure is expected to build in, and although eastern area may see chilly conditions with showers through Saturday and part of Sunday, the north and west should become dry with plenty of sunshine. Watch for chilly nights though under clear skies.
I'll keep you updated on this through the week.
Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
Simon
