Will the Cold Return?
I've been thinking (steady on!) over the past few days about the likelyhood of colder air returning before Christmas, and the more I look at this, the more I think that it will return.
My thoughts centre around the rebuilding of high pressure in the central Atlantic area during the coming days. I think that as this builds we may see some milder weather. High pressure then builds over the British Isles, but eventually it will move back west, introducing colder north or northwest winds.
This will allow colder air to flow in and will build low pressure over western mainland Europe. The effect of this may be to bring cold easterly winds over the south of the United Kingdom and Ireland, and perhaps an increased risk of snow.
This is only supposition at this stage, but I'll keep you posted.
Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
