Winds Set to Return
As Scotland and Northern Ireland recover from the winds of Wednesday night, gales are set to return to these areas again during Friday.
Striking Northern Ireland during the early hours of Friday morning, the gales will be through the rest of Ireland and Scotland, together with northwest England and west Wales by the Friday morning rush hour. Combined with heavy rain in western Scotland, driving conditions could be tricky.
It then stays windy throughout Friday, as the stronger winds extend across the whole of the British Isles. Gales may be widespread as a band of heavy rain sweeps east through the evening.
This sets us up for a chiller weekend as the winds become more northwesterly. Rain may turn to snow over the Scottish and Northern Ireland mountains, whilst a heavy band of rain passes southern Ireland and southwest England through the day on Saturday. Winter is here!
Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
Simon
