Local flooding in the West

After yesterdays heavy rain, especially through southwest Scotland, more heavy rain is on the way today.

As I write, the rainfall has eased off somewhat, but it is gathering strength again and will be bringing some heavy periods of rain to southwest England and Wales this afternoon.

The heaviest rain then transfers northwards through the course of the night, to be affecting western Scotland during the day on Wednesday.

If you are out and about in these regions during the next few days do take care as there will be a lot of surface water on roads and pavements.
