Heavy rain for many

Well, what a soaker that was; some huge rainfall totals over the United Kingdom in the past 24 hours.

For starters, Milford Haven received a whopping 112mm, that's 4.5 inches of rain in the 24 hours to 7am this morning. Carlisle had 90mm, nearly 4 inches in the same time and Aberporth had 86mm.

In the past 12 hours, from 7pm last night, Carlisle tops the league at 69mm, almost 3 inches, with Keswick in the Lake District seeing 54mm. The rain has eased overnight, but a further 20mm still fell in Trawscoed, mid Wales in the 6 hour period to 7am.
