Ground frost for many tonight

As cold northerly winds set in, signaling the end of summer, clear skies overnight are likely to allow temperatures to fall low enough for a ground frost in many places.

Most at risk seem to be central southern England, the Midlands and parts of northern England, especially in areas sheltered from the northerly wind.

Some of the most sheltered locations may also experience a very slight air frost with temperatures perhaps touching 0C by the morning.

Wrap up warm and whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
