More Fog on Sunday Morning

Fog affected many parts of England on Saturday morning, with visibility below 100 metres in many places. As I type, the fog is now dispersing from many areas, although it may linger along eastern and southern coasts all day. The 11am satellite image shows this superbly.

And the fog problems look set to return tonight.

With skies once again clearing inland, the Midlands and eastern England again look most prone to fog problems. More western areas will probably escape due to an increased wind here.

By Sunday morning visibility may be down below 100m over many parts of England, especially the Midlands and eastern England. As on Saturday morning, this is going to be clearing, although it is likely to be a slow process in the east; clearing more quickly to the west.

The coasts of northeast England and eastern Scotland may have low cloud drifting onto them during the day.

Further west, expect rain into Ireland in the afternoon, although this not reaching southwest England until nightfall.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
