Weekend teaser...how wet?

Okay, so it’s Tuesday. You’ve been at work for two days and your attention is no doubt starting to turn to the weather this weekend.

I’ve been think about this too, and trying to get a handle on what conditions are likely to occur.

At the moment it does seem likely that high pressure is going to be building to the far north, across Iceland and Scandinavia. But you may be asking why this should affect the United Kingdom when it is so far away? Well, the effect of this high would be to “squeezeö low pressure south of the British Isles.

I do think it likely that there will be unsettled weather through Ireland, Wales and the southern parts of England. It may be breezy here too, with outbreaks of rain.

More northern areas are probably going to be drier with more broken cloud, although eastern coasts may have some low cloud drifting in at times.

Of course, it is early days and things can change. I’m watching for that high to the north to be more intense than indicated by the current output from the computer models. That would mean that the better, drier weather may be further south.

Weatheronline will be keeping an eye on the latest forecasts and will keep you up-to-date.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
