Rain and wind on the way

Didn't it fee chilly yesterday? The last week has seen temperatures fall markedly through most of the country, heralding the arrival of autumn proper. Yesterdays rain brought 31.6mm of rain to Anglesey and 23mm to Cardiff and Portland.

Looking ahead the charts are indicating an autumnal week or so. Although high pressure is likely to build over Europe, a southwesterly flow will be the dominating weather pattern over England and Wales.

This pattern is likely to be bringing u spells of rain and strong winds. Looking further ahead the jet stream is over the top of us through next week, and towards the end of the month. This is a good indication that the weather will be staying mobile, wet and windy.

So batten down the hatches and get the garden ready for winter!

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
