A Foggy Start to Sunday

After clear skies on Saturday night temperatures are going to be falling sharply over much of of the UK and Ireland.

I think that these falling temperatures are going to be allowing some dense fog to form by Sunday morning. Most of England will be affected by this, as well as Wales, parts of southern Scotland and eastern Ireland. The most dense fog is probably going to be in the Midlands, northeast England and southeast England. This could freeze in places and may be slow to clear on Sunday morning.

My eyes are then drawing towards next week when we might see colder air returning from the east. I say "might" as there is some discrepancy between computer models at the moment. Some are going to a return to a bitterly cold winter with Siberian east winds for all, whilst other hint at something less cold.

It's not for me to leave you undecided on this, so at present I still favour the idea of conditions turning colder. From Thursday it may well be ice scrapers at the ready!

I'll have more for you tomorrow. Keep the sun shining!
