More rain to come, possible flooding

Over half an inch of rain has fallen overnight in parts of Northern Ireland and the Scilly Isles. This rainfall can be clearly see on the radar and satellite pictures this morning.

This amount of rain fall is going to be bringing problems with local flooding, making for tricky driving conditions with plenty of standing water.

Further heavy bursts of rain are expected during this morning and afternoon.

Forecasters at the Weatheronline Weather Centre currently expect the heaviest of the rain to be through Counties Londonderry, Antrim, Down and Armagh. We could see a further 10mm of rain before the end of the day.

The Scilly Isles will have further rain too, but although heavy and possibly thundery this morning, the rain should become a little lighter this afternoon.

Lsewhere through the British Isles, much of western England, Scotland and western Wales will become wet.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
