Is Autumn Here?
You will be forgiven for think the seasons have changed this week as unseasonably unsettled weather moves in from the Atlantic.
Rain has already arrived in western Scotland and Ireland this morning (Sunday), and this is edging eastwards this afternoon. The rain will cross the rest of the country during the night and Monday morning, before finally clearing the southeast.
It's to Wednesday we need to look for the really unsettled conditions. A deep area of low pressure is expected to form between Iceland and Scotland. This will push heavy rain east through all parts of the UK and Ireland during the day, but will also be bringing gale force winds.
By Thursday sunshine and showers will be the order of the day, ahead of more rain into southern England by the end of the week.
Early indications for the Bank Holiday weekend are for mixed weather in most places, although I'll have more on this for you later in the week.
Despite the forecast, whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
