Low pressure in control this weekend

A north-south split seems likely to develop in the weather pattern over the British Isles and Ireland during the next few days.

On Friday low pressure will be passing to the north of Scotland with most parts seeing some rain. It may become windy to the west as the rain clears.

Saturday sees pressure building briefly, with the best of the sunshine through northeastern England. Southern parts of the UK may see a few showers, whilst strong winds and rain will be troubling Ireland and western Scotland.

By Sunday a deep depression is expected over northern Scotland. Winds may well reach gale force over Scotland and Ireland, with a band of cloud and rain passing east through all areas to be followed by sunny spells and showers in more western areas.

Early indications are that more heavy rain will reach Ireland and Scotland late on Monday, with all places then windy through the night.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
