Will it be a wintry weekend?
For some time we've been forecasting a cold snap in the final week of November, and that prediction certainly looks like coming true.
For several days I've been watching developments at the end of this week more closely and it now seems as if our first taste of winter proper may well be on it's way. Snow seems likely for many, although how much and how long it will last is more difficult to predict.
What is happening is that an area of low pressure is going to be tracking down the North Sea and into the south of the British Isles during Thursday and Friday. This will have some very cold air associated with it, meaning that rain may turn readily to snow, especially over central and eastern parts of England. Scotland is also likely to see snow with some significantly cold weather to come here.
I'll keep you updated as to developments through the rest of this week, but for now, best to make plans for some wintry weather by Friday.
Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
Simon
