More snow showers are expected through today across much of eastern Scotland, England and Wales.

Forecasters at the Weatheronline Weather Centre are predicting that snow showers are going to become heavy across eastern England and the Midlands this afternoon. These could be prolonged at times, with the potential to produce several centimetres of snow in places.

As always with snowfall it is difficult to predict precisely where the heaviest snow will be today, but suffice to say that if you are planning on travelling you should take extra care, plenty of warm clothing and provisions.

Weatheronline has technology to tell you where it is snowing at the moment, just see here.

The snow showers then continue through this evening and overnight, although they may become more isolated for a time. Temperatures will be falling below freezing with ice becoming widespread, again leading to hazardous driving conditions.

We are also watching a further area of snow which may develop on Wednesday morning, moving into eastern England and eastern Scotland in the afternoon, before transferring westwards through the rest of England and Wales later.

Whatever weather occurs, we'll be keeping you informed throughout.

Keep warm!
Simon
