Fine or not for Easter?

There are times when it’s a tricky life for forecasters here at the Weatheronline Weather Centre.

24 hours a day, information is pouring in from all over the World, delivering the latest output from the most technologically advanced computers. These computers give information about what weather patterns will be affecting the globe over the coming days. Forecasters then add there own interpretation to this guidance, and issue forecasts accordingly.

However, there are occasions when the computer models can deliver a confusing signal, and that’s what has been happening during the past few days. Worst of all, these occasions seem to occur most frequently when a bank Holiday is just around the corner!

So, how do we think the Easter weekend will shape up?

Well, at the moment I think that high pressure is going to be building to the north of Scotland, whilst lower pressure will pass to the south. This brings the highest threat of rain, at least later in the weekend, across southern England.

The best of the weather is likely to be over Scotland, northwest England and Ireland, whilst eastern parts of Scotland and England may well have low cloud and some outbreaks of drizzle on the coasts.

Having said that, Friday and Saturday should be dry days for most, and are likely to be best days of the weekend. However, I’ll keep you updated, as this forecast could change!

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
