Low pressure deepens, gales on the way

As we slept last night, things were going on in the Atlantic, east of Newfoundland which will bring some battering weather to the west of the UK and Ireland early this week.

In particular the thingö in the Atlantic was the upward motion of moisture into the atmosphere, and the birth of a new area of low pressure.

That low will be developing, and deepening through the course of Sunday, so that by late Monday evening it will have got caught up in the jet stream and will be blown into the southwest of Ireland.

The result of this is going to be an areas of strong winds and heavy rain spreading through Ireland, Wales and western England. The strong winds look set to spread through much of England, Wales and Ireland and they may well reach gale force.

By Tuesday evening most of the country will be brighter, with the winds having blown themselves out. Another area of rain then moves northwards through Ireland and western coasts of England, introducing much milder conditions across central and eastern parts of the United Kingdom.

Ill have more on the milder weather for you tomorrow.

Whatever the weather keep the sun shining!
