Batten down the hatches in Scotland
A deep area of low pressure is forming in the Atlantic, west of Ireland this morning. It's spinning up now and will bring some windy weather to all parts of the British Isles and Ireland during the next twenty-four hours.
At most risk from the strongest winds are Northern Ireland, western and northern Scotland. With so many leaves on trees at this time of year, winds reaching 70mph could well cause damage to those trees.
The highest risk of the strongest winds is from around 6pm this evening (Tuesday), through to dawn on Wednesday.
If you are in Scotland or Northern Ireland during this time, and you are travelling, do take extra care as driving may well become tricky.
Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining.
