Get Set, We May Be in For a Pre-2006 Freeze

With the all the excitement surrounding snow at Christmas, and of course the disappointing realisation that it's not going to happen, many could be lulled into a false set of security. Of course, the weather has different ideas and although your presents might not freeze Christmas Day, the cold Turkey may be much colder than you might think come early next week.

Run after run of the computer models are now predicting the door opening on some very cold post-Christmas weather. Firstly, we need to get the high pressure responsible for the relatively mild conditions to retreat northwards. This seems to happen during Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The result of this is to allow northeast winds to set in through England and Wales.

As the northeast winds blow, so we'll find things cooler down. temperatures will fall and there is an increasing chance of seeing some white stuff, especially through eastern England and the eastern Midlands, as well as southern England before the start of 2006.

I'm unsure on the timings at the moment, but certainly think it is on it's way.

Brrrrr. Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
