Heavy rain and a risk of flooding

Southwest winds are going to be bringing some very warm air through the British Isles over the coming few days. The air originates in the tropics, and as warm air can hold plenty of moisture, some parts of the UK an Ireland are set to become very wet.

However, one regions loss will be another’s gain, and it looks as though the weather could become very warm through the Midlands and southeast England

On Wednesday morning southwest Ireland, and southwest Scotland look likely to see the heaviest rain, we could see a much of an inch in places. During the afternoon hints are that the heavy rain continues through southwest Scotland, but although still wet, southern Ireland should have lighter rain.

The next batch of heavy rain looks likely to affect the west of the UK and Ireland through Friday. The exact location of the heavy rainfall is unclear at the moment, but I hope to be able to tell you more about this tomorrow.
