Farming and gardening smiles

If you are a gardener or farmer, no doubt you'll be smiling this week. At last, after many weeks of dry weather, most of the UK and Ireland are set to see more rain during the next five days.

Sunday has already been a wet day, with steady rain for many. 37mm of rain fell at Great Malvern in the twelve hours to 7pm, with 30mm in Hereford and 18mm in Cardiff.

More rain is likely in the south through Monday, although this will fade as it moves away to the southwest.

It's then to Wednesday and Thursday that we must then look for further rain. This will be passing northwards, and it is likely that between Wednesday and Friday many parts of southern England, Wales and Ireland may se a further 20 to 40mm of rain.

Exact timings of rainfall are tricky to place at the moment, but I will keep you update through the week here at Weatheronline.
