Pressure rising, on course for sunshine

If you've been keeping a careful eye on on our 30 day forecasts over the past few weeks, you'll have seen us talking about high pressure building through October.

This has always been a critical forecast for me as it is crucial to the success of our winter prediction.

It has therefore been pleasing to see that the numerical prediction models are now picking up on the possibility of high pressure building between 6th and 10th October, then persisting for quite a while.

If this happens, after the next week or so of unsettled weather, we can look forward to some fine weather through mid-October, although do watch out for some frosts and fog overnight. And what of the winter? Well, that could be a cold one.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
