Warm, dry, sometimes wet…take your pick!
The Bank Holiday weekend usually seems to bring rain, wind and cold weather, but that’s not the case this weekend.
I’m looking at charts which show southerly winds bringing air from Spain and the western Mediterranean through most of the British Isles. This is mixed with some moister Atlantic air and so Saturday is likely to have a fair amount of cloud around in the morning, especially western parts of England, Wales and Ireland, where there may be drizzle.
Once this clears though, and the sun comes out through central, eastern and southern England temperatures will be picking up quickly, easily making 21 or 22C across southeast England.
Sunday is a little more uncertain. There is an indication that a band of thundery rain will pass northeast across England and Wales during the day, after a fine start for central and eastern areas. This could turn out to be fairly heavy, although it should turn drier from the west later.
Monday is also uncertain, but I think at the moment that showers will be breaking out through the Midlands and Wales, with rain across Ireland. Southern coasts of England should be dry with sunny spells the best of the weather east of the Isle of Wight.
Whatever the weather keep the sun shining!
