Chilly and windy, rain or showers

The door will be opened this weekend to a blast of cold, Arctic Polar air.

The beginnings of this change will be overnight into Saturday morning as a cold front moves eastwards through the UK. This will introduce cooler air. However, the main change will be felt by Scotland during the early hours of Saturday morning as a second cold front moves southeast.

Behind the second front will be much colder air and heavy showers. Those showers and colder air will sweep southeastwards through Ireland, England and Wales through Saturday making it feel increasingly cold. Winds may reach gale force in northwest Scotland.

On Sunday the weather will be feeling cold to as cloud and drizzle pass through Scotland and Northern Ireland, whilst the rest of the country has broken cloud and lighter winds.

Whatever the weather, keep the sun shining!
