Quickborn Flood
Record Rainfall

Bonn, WeatherOnline. Friday night incredible 120 mm of rain fell over Quickborn<, a small town near Hamburg, northern Germany, in about three hours. The record rainfall was recorded by an automatic weather station and thus meteorologist were suspicious about the readings at first.

However, local amateur weather observers confirmed the readings, reporting that their rain gauges were spilling over, uncapable of measureing the total precipitation at once. A speaker of the Quickborn Fire Department reported that " such conditions were unseen in Quickborn before". The torrential rain storm started around 11 pm on Thursday and lasted until around 2 am Friday morning.Tthe local Fire Dept. was fighting flooding all through the night.
