Summer Heat Set To Return
The UK has experienced a number of warm, or even hot spells
so far this summer. Zonality, the normally dominating characteristic of the Atlantic on the UK, bringing low pressure systems and cool, rainy days from the west , has not been particularly evident up until the last fortnight. Southerly winds, and the much publicised "Spanish Plume" events have been a common feature this summer, with temperatures in central England exceeding 30C on occasions. However, with many conceding that summer must be over, next week now looks set to see the return of high temperatures, with a notable heatwave pending!

Of course, one must not be too hasty at this point as to just how intense this return of summer will be. However, WeatherOnline are confident that the UK and Ireland will see a rapid increase in temperatures next week, from Monday onwards, potentially reaching 30C once more by midweek. For this reason, we are launching a "Summer Heat Feature", which will monitor the build-up to next week's heat. By using the collection of links below, you can browse the many forecast charts available at WeatherOnline to determine where and when will see the highest temperatures.
