Monday 01/12/03 to Tuesday 02/11/03
Heavy outbreaks of rain will affect much of England and Wales on Monday morning. This will spread slowly westwards during the afternoon, clearing from eastern parts with sunny spells likely. Eastern Scotland will also be rather cloudy with scattered showers, but western parts will be mostly dry and bright. It will also be largely sunny across Ireland and Northern Ireland, although winds will be fairly strong. Overnight, rain will continue across western England and Wales, but elsewhere it should become dry with some clear spells. On Tuesday morning, rain will continue to spread westwards across much of Ireland, with further rain reaching parts of eastern England and eastern Scotland in the afternoon. For remaining parts of England, Wales and Scotland, it will be a rather cloudy day with patchy rain, although western Scotland will have sunny spells at times. Temperatures around average for the time of year, with winds easing.
Wednesday 03/12/03 to Thursday 04/12/03
On Wednesday, much of England and Wales will have a rather cloudy day with patchy rain, although this will ease with some brighter spells in the afternoon. Scotland will also be rather cloudy at first, becoming drier and brighter from the west. Ireland and Northern Ireland will have a mostly dry day, with the best of the sunny spells here. Winds will be light in all parts, with fog forming in many places across the UK overnight. On Thursday, fog patches may be slow to clear in some prone regions, but otherwise everywhere will have a glorious day with plenty of winter sunshine. With light winds, it will feel pleasant after the chilly start, although the south coast will have a rather keen easterly breeze.
Friday 05/12/03 to Sunday 07/12/03
Friday will be mostly settled across all parts, although once again overnight fog patches may be slow to clear in prone parts, such as the Vale of York and Cheshire. Winds will be light in central parts, but with a brisk easterly across the south, and westerly winds increasing later across northern Scotland. Saturday will be very similar across the UK, with high pressure very much in control. Sunny spells will be plentiful, although fog may life to low cloud in places giving a rather grey morning. On Sunday, little will change, with plenty of sunshine, although night-time temperatures will begin to drop with frost forming in places. More detail in the next forecast update.
