Rather Unsettled, Rain At Times

Monday 02/06/03 to Tuesday 03/06/03
A dramatic start to Monday across eastern and south-eastern England, with violent thunderstorms bringing the threat of hail and local flooding. Elsewhere across England and Wales, a cloudy morning with some drizzle around. Across Ireland, strengthening winds will drive showers inland after a sunny morning, and these will filter eastwards to Wales and western Scotland by the afternoon interspersed with sunny spells. At the same time thunderstorms will clear eastern parts although staying cloudy here. Fresher, but still quite warm in places, although overnight will be less oppressive than of late. Into Tuesday, southerly winds will once again drag warm, humid air northwards across England and Wales with some sunny spells. Heavy rain across Ireland and Northern Ireland will spread eastwards during the day, perhaps sparking more thunderstorms across central and eastern England. Cooler and fresher in the west with showers later.

Wednesday 04/06/03 to Thursday 05/06/03
Wednesday will be cloudy across much of Wales, England and Scotland, with spells of heavy rain from time to time. The extreme south-east may even see some further downpours, with scattered thunderstorms. Muggy in the east, but much fresher across western UK fringes, along with Ireland. Sunny spells and a scattering of showers here, perhaps more persistent across Northern Ireland later. Most of the showers dying out overnight and into Thursday, and rain will clear eastern parts, then most regions will be dry and bright for a time. Strengthening westerly winds will spread rain from the south-west by late morning, heavy at times, particularly across Ireland. Rain will reach all parts by late evening, turning brighter with showers in the west. Much fresher for everyone, but still pleasantly warm.

Friday 06 /06/03 to Sunday 08/06/03
Friday will see bright spells and frequent showers. Some of the showers will be heavy with thunder, although southern and eastern parts may escape the day mostly dry. During the afternoon, the west and south-west will cloud over although should stay dry during daylight hours. The weekend will see a mixed bag of weather, with sunny spells for all at some point. There will also be spells of rain, interspersed with showers for many parts. It will always be on the mild side however, especially across the south-east where it may even be warm. As ever, further updates will confirm the weekend weather nearer the time.
