Friday 05/11/04 to Saturday 06/11/04
We're expecting ideal conditions for bonfire night this Friday, with high pressure anchored firmly to the west of the UK. For Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland, the day will be dry with sunshine, and this will lead into a calm, clear night with fog patches. Much of England and Scotland will share this fine weather, but there will be more cloud across northern Scotland and north-east England, together with a gusty west or north-westerly wind. The high pressure will build across most parts during Saturday, with long spells of sunshine after a foggy start. There may even be patches of frost around first thing. The best of the sunshine will be across England and Wales, along with much of Ireland. However, there will be more cloud around across the far north of England and much of Scotland, with strong westerly winds. Rain will set in here during the day, becoming heavy across west-facing coasts and hills later.

Sunday 07/11/04 to Monday 08/11/04
There'll be very little change during Sunday, with another crisp start across most of the UK and Ireland. Frost and fog will clear during the morning, and much of Ireland, England and Wales will be fine with sunny spells. Once again, west to north-westerly winds will be strong across Scotland through the day, with the risk of more rain, although most places will have a much drier day than on Saturday. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine and light winds across the south. The centre of high pressure over the UK is expected to retreat westwards during Monday, allowing a more north-westerly wind to develop across the mainland UK. Although it will stay mostly dry, there will be a few showers across north-west facing coasts of England and Wales. Ireland and Northern Ireland will hang on to the sunny conditions after a frosty start, and Scotland will turn brighter but colder with a few wintry showers over the hills.

Tuesday 09/11/04 to Wednesday 10/11/04
The setup during Tuesday is looking almost identical to that of Monday, with high pressure sitting to the west of the UK, feeding in a chilly north-westerly wind. For most of the UK, it will be dry with some sunshine, especially across Ireland and Northern Ireland again. A few showers are likely across north-west England and Scotland, wintry over the hills. There will also be more cloud around across the mainland UK than of late, although there will still be some sunshine. On Wednesday, the north-westerly wind will increase, especially across Scotland where gales are likely across the far north. With a lot of cloud around, scattered showers are likely anywhere across Scotland, northern England and north Wales, although most places will stay dry. Ireland and Northern Ireland will have a frosty start, but will again have the best of the sunshine. Feeling rather chilly everywhere, especially in the wind.
