Rain/Showers For All! Some Sunshine.

Friday 06/06/03 to Saturday 07/06/03
Cloudy skies across many parts of England and Wales during Friday morning, with outbreaks of rain spreading east. Some of the rain will be heavy, especially across southern parts in the afternoon. For the rest of the country, bright spells but also scattered, blustery showers driven on by a strong south-westerly wind. The rain will linger across the south-east during the evening, but clear spells will develop elsewhere, lasting overnight as showers die away. South-eastern England remaining cloudy into Saturday, with mostly light rain from time to time. A band of showery rain will also cross much of Ireland during the afternoon, but in between a largely dry day with spells of sunshine. During the evening, the rain in the south-west will become heavier, and the showers in the west will spread to England and Wales overnight. Temperatures for this period will be around average, although turning warm where sunny spells last for any length of time.

Sunday 08/06/03 to Monday 09/06/03
Rain continuing in south-east England during the morning, very heavy at times, although gradually easing by noon. Elsewhere, a bright day with plenty of sunshine, and remaining mostly dry for central and south-western parts. For western coasts of England and Wales, along with Scotland and Northern Ireland, there will be scattered showers at times. These will be heaviest in the far north-west, although will ease towards evening. A generally dry start to the new week, with sunshine across many parts of England and Wales during Monday morning. Out to the west however, the next low pressure system will swing cloud and rain across many parts during the afternoon and evening, with only the far east staying dry until after dark. Turning brighter in the south-west behind the rain, but with some heavy showers. Temperatures once again on the mild side, but feeling cool when the rain arrives.

Tuesday 10 /06/03 to Thursday 12/06/03
A wet morning in eastern parts of England and Scotland, although becoming drier and brighter into the afternoon. Elsewhere, a straight-forward run of sunshine and showers, some of the showers heavy and thundery. These will be most frequent in the north-west, and will merge to more persistent rain later. Winds will be strong south-westerly, gusting to gale force through the Irish Sea. Mid-week will remain generally unsettled, with rain running across northern parts during Wednesday, sunshine and showers elsewhere. There is a hint of some drier conditions beginning to establish during Thursday afternoon especially, with spells of sunshine for many. However, this is a long way off at present, and with such unsettled conditions prevailing for some time now, further detail is needed.
