Unsettled windy and wet
No sign of winter

Forecast valid for Sunday 10/11/02 to Saturday 16/11/02 TOI Friday 08/11/02 1100 GMT. Based on GFS, UKMO and ENS labelled model.

Another unsettled wet and rather breezy week ahead. No sign of winter, but increasing flood risk.

Sunday to Tuesday. Confidence is high (85%) for a very wet and unsettled start of the week. The weather of the British Isles will be mainly controlled by a relatively large, but slow moving and filling low sitting north of Scotland. It is hard to predict where the rain will hit precisely, but wherever you go don't forget your rain-gear.

Sunday morning will be very wet for most before a spell of brighter conditions is spreading west followed by more showery conditions again.

Monday also rain and showers for most. Only the south-east might remain a little drier for a while before a renewed rain front will affect most places but the far north during Tuesday.

Temperatures will be around normal for the time of year. West to southwesterly winds will be rather strong, reaching near gale force around western and south-western coasts.

Wednesday and the rest of the week will be controlled by a new low located a little bit further to the south. This means unsettled conditions and near normal temperatures for most with probably colder conditions for all northern areas. Therefore showers might turn out wintry here, especially on higher ground. Intermittent clear spells will bring some sunny intervals during the day, but might also bring local frost and fog to many places. Winds will ease a little.
