Wednesday 09/07/03 to Thursday 10/07/03
A warm front spreading across northern England and Scotland on Wednesday will bring a good deal of cloud here with some light rain at times. South of this however, very warm and humid conditions with sunny spells. It may become hot in the south with temperatures in the high twenties Celsius, but again feeling extremely humid. In south-west Ireland, rather more cloud with rain spreading in from the west during the evening, perhaps into the south-west of England also. A very oppressive night for most, but winds freshening across Ireland and Northern Ireland, and into Thursday rain will be falling across many parts here. Another bright day for England and again becoming very warm and humid with rather a lot of cloud at times. Cloud and increasingly patchy rain will spread into Wales and the western UK mainland during the afternoon, reaching all areas by the end of the day. Turning fresher from the west, still humid in the east.
Friday 11/07/03 to Saturday 12/07/03
Friday will be a much fresher day across all parts, with the cloud and humidity clearing the south-east by dawn. Thereafter, much of England and Wales will have a sunny day, with only a scattered of showers in the west. For Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland however, showers will be more frequent and heavy, with strong westerly winds. Towards the end of the day, showers will become confined to the far north, and most parts becoming dry overnight. Saturday will see the return of high pressure, so almost the entire country will see long sunny spells. It will become warm, perhaps very warm in the south. There will be rather more in the way of cloud across western parts of Ireland, but even here it should remain dry. Staying fine for most into the evening, so the perfect conditions for a weekend BBQ!
Sunday 13/07/03 to Tuesday 14/07/03
High pressure really becoming established on Sunday, so many parts seeing plenty of sunshine and very warm temperatures. Little change through the day, although cloud is likely to come and go across the far west of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The new week will see temperatures remaining very warm, perhaps becoming hot in places. Plenty of sunshine to be had, although it does look at present that scattered thunderstorms will develop on Tuesday afternoon and evening. Western parts will turn cloudier also with the chance of rain, but this is still a long way off in forecasting terms, so more details on the new week in the next update.
