Rain will cross all parts overnight, becoming drier with clear spells later in the west. On Wednesday morning, eastern parts will be cloudy and wet, although during the afternoon it will become drier and brighter. Elsewhere it will be mostly dry with sunny spells, but western parts will have scattered showers, heavy at times with the risk of thunder. Much of Ireland, Wales and western England will become cloudy during the day, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. For the rest of England and Northern Ireland, it will be mostly dry with sunny spells and variable amounts of cloud. After a misty start, it will be mostly dry and sunny across Scotland, with lighter winds than of late. During the evening, winds will strengthen across south-western parts with further heavy rain. Overnight, many western parts will become wet, with very strong winds and gales in the north-west. It will be very unsettled on Friday morning, with outbreaks of heavy rain reaching eastern parts by noon. Following on behind this across western parts, showers will become frequent, and blustery in strong to gale force winds, possibly severe gale force in western Scotland and Northern Ireland for a time. Saturday 15/11/03 to Sunday 16/11/03
On Saturday, many northern and western parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland will remain windy with frequent, blustery showers. Elsewhere it will become largely dry with sunny spells, due to a ridge of high pressure building in from the west. There will be patchy mist and fog overnight, but later southern and western parts will become cloudy with patchy rain. On Sunday, many parts will have a mostly dry if rather cloudy day. Scattered showers will still affect the north-west, and thicker cloud will give some light rain around southern and western coasts at times. Many parts will have temperatures at, or slightly above average. More detail in the next forecast update.
