Monday 14/04/03 to Tuesday 15/04/03
A west-east split across the UK during this period. From dawn to dusk, many parts of England and Wales will see sunny spells on Monday, lifting afternoon temperatures to between 16°C and 20°C so feeling warm in light winds. Fronts straddling western mainland fringes, along with much of Ireland and Scotland will produce a good deal of cloud and outbreaks of showery rain, sometimes heavy. Still mild here, between 13°C and 16°C but rather windy, especially in the south-west. By Tuesday, the warm southerly flow will strengthen allowing the sunnier parts of central and southern areas to reach highs of between 21°C and 23°C. Cooler in the west and north where cloud will persist, although much of the lingering rain will die away. Overnight temperatures will remain mild, eliminating any risk of frost.
Wednesday 16/04/03 to Thursday 17/04/03
Remaining settled across the bulk of the UK on Wednesday, with sunshine becoming more widespread as high pressure moves closer. As winds fall away, temperatures will become somewhat summery, with the low to mid twenties being experienced in many places. The far west and north-west will start off rather cloudier, but apart from the odd shower skies will slowly brighten from the south. A similar day on Thursday, with all parts staying fine and dry, becoming warm or even very warm in sheltered central parts, 25°C in certainly not out of the question. Once again, a little more cloud around in western parts, but still bright or sunny at times. Nights will be generally mild with a continuation of a southerly flow, so no frost problems to be had.
Friday 18/04/03 to Saturday 20/04/03
Friday and Saturday will remain fine, sunny and warm across many parts. The extreme west will be plagued by cloudier areas, but not enough to detract from a very pleasant period of weather. Temperatures will reach the low 20's once again in many parts, perhaps higher in one or two locations. It does look at present, that Easter Sunday may see cooler conditions, particularly across southern England with a strengthening easterly wind. Although there will be more cloud around, it should stay mostly dry however, with many northern parts staying sunny and rather warm.
