Fri 13 Jun
Weekly Outlook : 13/06/03-19/06/03
Sunny & Warm Into Next Week. Only Scattered Showers.

Friday 13/06/03 to Saturday 14/06/03
Southern parts will welcome back summer during Friday, as high pressure begins to build from the south-west. Many places in England and Wales will see unbroken sunshine, with temperatures into the mid twenties celcius in places. A different story for much of Scotland and Northern Ireland however, with a lot of cloud around and showery rain at times. Later in the afternoon, high cloud with turn the sunshine milky across southern England. Overnight, there is the chance of some spells of rain clipping the south coast, local thunder possible. This will clear into Saturday however, and many parts will then see further sunshine and warm temperatures. Cloud and any remaining showers will die away in the north, and here too sunshine will become widespread. Later in the afternoon, cloud will stream into the far west of Ireland ahead of Atlantic fronts pushing eastwards.

Sunday 15/06/03 to Monday 16/06/03
The fine, settled theme continuing into Sunday, with wall to wall sunshine in many parts and very warm temperatures. Coasts will escape the highest temperatures with sea breezes setting up, and here pollen counts will be lower. Into the afternoon, thicker cloud will move across southern Scotland and Northern England, producing the odd sharp shower. A fine evening in prospect however, and a mild night to come, ideal for a BBQ! Much of mainland UK will see little change on Monday, with plenty of sunshine and soaring temperatures. During the afternoon however, western coasts may become misty with some sea fog possible. Cloud will also thicken once more across western Ireland, heralding some showery rain into the evening.

Tuesday 17/06/03 to Thursday 19/06/03
There is a good deal of uncertainty for this period at present. Although it is likely that conditions will become more unsettled, the exact timing and duration of this change is, at present difficult to forecast. Tuesday will stay mostly fine for England and Wales, with rather more cloud than of late but still with plenty of sunshine. Ireland, Northern Ireland and western Scotland will see a good deal of cloud, with showery rain at times, perhaps thundery. This will spread erratically eastwards during Wednesday, and we expect this to reach all parts by evening. Out to the west, turning cooler with showers, these developing more widely as we move into Thursday. Temperatures still above average however, so feeling pleasant in sunny spells. More details in the next weekly update.
