Northern parts will be rather wet for much of the day, with low cloud over the hills. Winds will become strong in the north, mostly light elsewhere. Overnight, many places will remain cloudy and damp with further rain, but it will be very mild. Northern Ireland and western Scotland will also have some sunny spells, with scattered showers in places. Rather breezy everywhere. On Thursday, more weather fronts will sweep across all parts, bringing a period of rain south-eastwards. Some of the rain will be heavy, but will tend to become lighter and more patchy in the south. Winds will become north-westerly behind the rain, allowing it to become a little cooler across Scotland and Ireland later. Staying mild in the south.

Sunday will have longer spells of rain, perhaps turning wintry over the hills and mountains in Scotland. Overnight frost will form in sheltered parts, but on the whole it will be too windy for much frost or fog to form. At present, the extent to the cooler weather is uncertain, and more detail will be given on this in the next forecast update.
