Sunday 20/06/04 to Mnday 21/06/04
The northerly breeze will continue across much of the UK on Sunday, so it will feel fairly cool everywhere. There will be some sunshine, especially across Ireland and western parts of the mainland, but showers will break out elsewhere. Some of the showers in central and eastern England will be rather heavy with thunder, and later in the day more prolonged rain will reach much of Scotland. Low pressure will dominate most parts on Monday, with outbreaks of showery rain. Some of the showers will be heavy with hail and thunder, although there will be some sunny spells in between. The best of the sunshine will be in the south, and here it will begin to feel a little warmer.

Tuesday 22/06/04 to Wednesday 23/06/04
On Tuesday, low pressure is expected to be sitting right over the UK, maintaining the unsettled theme. For most parts, the winds will be lighter, so in the sunny spells it will feel warm. Conversely, showers will develop, becoming heavy with hail and thunder, and they will be slow-moving in the light winds. Once again, west will be best for drier, sunnier conditions. On Wednesday there will be little change, with the sunshine and showers mix continuing. Some places will remain mostly dry and quite warm, whereas others may experience some lengthy downpours with the risk of local flooding. Later in the day, clouds will thicken in south-west England threatening more prolonged rain.

Thursday 24/06/04 to Friday 25/06/04
The winds will become north-westerly again on Thursday, so it will begin to feel cooler again. This will mean that England and Wales have a largely dry day with some sunshine, and only scattered showers. However, cloud and rain will spread slowly across much of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland through the day. The rain will continue in the north on Friday, becoming heavy at times and accompanied by a gusty westerly wind. For the rest of the UK there will be a mixture of sunny spells and showers, some heavy, although most of these will be in the west. Staying rather cool for the time of year, with no sign of any warmer weather at this present time.
