Tue 18 Nov
Weekly Outlook : 19/11/03-25/11/03
Becoming more settled for many over the weekend - always more cloud in the south.

Wednesday 19/11/03 to Thursday 20/11/03
Much of northern England, southern parts of Ireland and later North Wales will have a cloudy day, with outbreaks of rain. Most will be light but there will be some heavy spells around. Central and southern England will be mostly dry but rather cloudy, with drizzle later in the north. It will be brighter across Northern Ireland and Scotland, with plenty of sunny spells and only scattered showers. Very mild in the south, becoming colder in the north. Overnight, southern parts will be wet but mild, with clearer weather in the north. On Thursday, central and southern England, together with much of Wales will be overcast with further rain, moderate at times. It will stay very mild here however. Ireland, Northern England and southern Scotland will be dry with some sunny spells, but rather chilly. After a bright start, northern Scotland and Northern Ireland will become cloudy with outbreaks of rain, mostly light and patchy. Light to moderate winds everywhere.

Friday 21/11/03 to Saturday 22/11/03
South-eastern parts of England will be rather cloudy on Friday, with further pulses of rain from time to time. Elsewhere, after a chilly start with local frost, it will be dry with plenty of Autumnal sunshine to be enjoyed. Winds will be mostly light, so it will feel pleasant despite remaining rather chillier than of late. By late afternoon, thicker cloud is expected to stream in across western parts of Scotland. There will be very little change on Saturday, with cloud stubbornly lingering across south-east England, always with the threat of rain. North-west Scotland and Northern Ireland will also be rather cloudy with scattered showers. Everywhere else, there will be fog and frost to clear in sheltered parts, then it will be a largely settled day with plenty of sunshine. Mild in the extreme south, around average elsewhere.

Sunday 23/11/03 to Tuesday 25/11/03
On Sunday, southern parts of England will see cloud thickening once more with the risk of patchy rain. Northern Scotland will also have scattered showers with rather a lot of cloud around. Elsewhere, mostly dry with sunny spells after a chilly morning. The detail for early next week is currently rather uncertain, although it does look like becoming generally more unsettled once again from the west. Central and north-eastern parts are expected to remain dry with sunny spells on Monday, whilst elsewhere cloud thickens with outbreaks of rain and freshening winds. This will spread to remaining parts on Tuesday, with sunshine and showers following on to western parts. More detail in the next forecast update.
