Friday 23/04/04 to Saturday 24/04/04
Unsettled weather will become mostly confined to northern parts on Friday, as southern parts become brighter. Cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain will spread eastwards across Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern England through the day, followed by cloudy, drizzly conditions. For the rest of England and Wales, including eastern parts of Ireland, it will be largely dry with variable amounts of cloud and warm sunny spells. Temperatures will reach the high teens Celsius here in the afternoon. Conditions look set to remain rather similar into Saturday, with predominantly warm, sunny weather across much of England and Wales, with light southerly winds. The wind will be fresh across much of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, with a good deal of cloud around and occasional rain. Most of the rain will be light, but the odd heavier burst is likely. Warm everywhere, especially so in the south-east with the potential for highs into the low twenties Celsius.
Sunday 25/04/04 to Monday 26/04/04
On Sunday, high pressure will continue to control the weather across England, Wales and southern parts of Ireland, with sunny spells and only the outside chance of an afternoon shower. It will become warm once again with a light southerly flow. The cloud will continue to produce the odd spot of rain or drizzle across Northern Ireland and Scotland, although even here there will be a little brightness and it should feel pleasantly mild. The high pressure block will continue to dominate the weather across much of Wales, Ireland and England, extending to all but the north of Scotland and Northern Ireland during the day. In the latter, it will remain rather cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle. Elsewhere, it will be another very warm day with long sunny spells and only light winds, although a fresh easterly breeze will make it feel cool on the English Channel coast.
Tuesday 27/04/04 to Wednesday 28/04/04
The early taste of summer shows no sign of moving away across England and Wales on Tuesday, with much of Ireland once again joining in the sunny conditions. Temperatures will remain in the high teens Celsius, perhaps even the low twenties in favoured places. Northern Ireland and Scotland look likely to miss out once again though, with rather a lot of cloud giving coast and hill drizzle. Winds will also strengthen here, with the risk of gales around exposed western parts. Confidence at this long range is currently fairly though, although it does look as if the high pressure will remain in place into Wednesday. As well as keeping the sunny skies across England, Wales and Ireland, Scotland may also become much brighter with some sunshine. As ever, please check back for long range forecast updates.
