Sun 20 Apr
Weekly Outlook : 21/04/03-27/04/03
Fine at first. Showery Monday, then dry/fine. Unsettled by Weekend.

Monday 21/04/03 to Tuesday 22/04/03
With Sunday's forecast "breakdown" not materialising as expected, Monday and Tuesday have uncertainty cast upon them. However, it does appear that temperatures will increase, with highs of between 16°C and 18°C, warmer still in the south on Tuesday at 17°C to 20°C. Monday will be rather more unsettled, with low pressure close to the south-west. Eastern coastal counties of England will be largely cloudy, with spots of light rain in the breeze. Elsewhere, there will be sunny spells, but also a scattering of showers, some heavy. With very light winds indeed, Tuesday will be the better day, with plenty of sunshine and only scattered showers. The far north and south-west may be rather more cloudy at times however with the odd spot or two of rain.

Wednesday 23/04/03 to Thursday 24/04/03
Continuing the settled theme, many places will be dry on Wednesday with a good deal of sunshine. Temperatures will peak at between 14°C and 16°C in the north, 18°C to 20°C in the south. During the day, easterly winds look set to increase, and this will keep the eastern side of the UK much cooler, perhaps with sea-fog in the north-east. Increasing cloud in the west will continue into Thursday, perhaps with a decaying band of light rain crossing into southern parts. Elsewhere should stay dry and fine, although the far north will again see low cloud and patchy light drizzle at times. Such is the nature of the current pressure patterns, confidence is only moderate at this time.

Friday 25/04/03 to Sunday 27/04/03
A gradual decay of our settled weather looks likely as we move into next weekend, with low pressure building in the south- west. Friday itself will be largely dry and bright for England and Wales, however much of Scotland and Northern Ireland will see more in the way of cloud. Cloud will also increase in the south-west into Saturday, with increasing southerly winds. Rain will make stately progress northwards and eastwards, mostly light and not arriving into northern parts until Sunday. By this time England and Wales will return to brighter weather with scattered showers. Continuing rather warm in the south, but northern parts will become decidedly chilly by the end of the weekend.
