Friday 20/06/03 to Saturday 21/06/03
Friday will see very much fresher, clearer weather than of late, particularly across southern parts where humidity has been very high. It was also be a gloriously sunny day for many, unbroken sunshine in many parts. Feeling warm towards the south with light winds, however strong west to north-west winds across Scotland and Northern Ireland will make it feel a little chilly. Overnight and into Saturday, many parts will be clear and quite cool with lighter winds. However, south-western parts will see low cloud increasing, and mist and fog shrouding coastal high ground. Sunshine will not be as prolonged today with more in the way of patchy cloud, but it will still be warm again out of the wind in the north-west. Overnight, cloud will begin to develop and thicken as it spreads northwards across Northern England and Scotland, and at the same time cloud and patchy rain will spread into parts of Ireland.
Sunday 22/06/03 to Monday 23/06/03
Sunday is currently looking very interesting, although the exact detail is uncertain. However, warm air pushing from the south looks set to give many parts of England and Wales a very warm, or hot day. Humidity will be very high also, so it will feel uncomfortable for some. There will be bright or sunny spells across much of the UK, although still misty in the south-west. Scotland and eastern parts of Ireland will be cloudy with spells of rain, perhaps heavy in the latter. It is into the evening and overnight that we may see problems, as thunderstorms spread up across England and Wales. Some have the potential to be very lively, with large rainfall totals and hail quite possible. This risk will extend to eastern England during Monday morning, as fresher, brighter weather takes hold from the west elsewhere. Into the afternoon, any remaining showers will move away, then all parts will enjoy sunny spells and pleasant temperatures, the humidity dropping as well.
Tuesday 24 /06/03 to Thursday 26/06/03
For much of Tuesday and Wednesday, we will see a north-south split in our weather. Southern parts, including much of Wales and the Midlands southwards, will remain mostly dry with some good sunny spells. Feeling warm in light south-westerly winds. A different story for Ireland, Scotland and Northern England however, as there will be a lot of cloud with some patchy rain, perhaps heavy in the north-west of Scotland. Winds will be strong, south-westerly in the far north, making it feel cooler. Through Wednesday evening and into Thursday, and weak band of rain will spread across all parts, clearing to bright spells and showers in the west, but linger in the south-east until evening.
