Monday 21/07/03 to Tuesday 22/07/03
A day of sunshine and showers for most parts on Monday, with the showers becoming more frequent by early afternoon. There will be sunshine in between the showers, which will organise into bands from west to east. Some will be heavy and most frequent in the north-west, some south-eastern areas remaining dry. Rather breezy with temperatures around average. Overnight, showers will die out leaving clear spells for most and this will lead into a bright start to Tuesday. South-westerly winds will bring in further showers to the north-west, but generally more isolated elsewhere with long spells of sunshine. Feeling a little warmer, especially in the south-east with lighter winds. Cloud thickening later in western Ireland, heralding rain overnight.
Wednesday 23/07/03 to Thursday 24/07/03
A more unsettled day on Wednesday, as a band of cloud and rain moves slowly eastwards across all parts. Rain will affected Ireland during the morning, some heavy, spreading to western parts of Scotland, Wales and western England by noon. Ahead of this, bright with sunny spells but increasing cloud, behind a mixture of sunshine and showers. Rain will reach the east coast by evening, always heaviest in the north, lighter in the south. Fresh to strong south-westerly winds, but still rather warm. Overnight and into Thursday, rain will clear all but the south-east leaving a mixture of sunny spells and isolated showers. A small ridge of high pressure will kill off remaining showers in the south during the afternoon, becoming fine and dry with good spells of sunshine many, but still showery in the far north. Cloudier later in the west of Ireland once more.
Friday 25/07/03 to Sunday 27/07/03
The end of the week and into the weekend looks set to remain a little unsettled, with showers in many parts from time to time. Friday will see the best of any drier, brighter weather especially across England and Wales. Showers will merge to longer spells of rain in the north-west on Saturday, with a fragmented band working its way from west to east across southern parts. Winds will become fresh, but will ease once again during Sunday. A straightforward run of sunshine and showers will then spread to most parts, and feeling a little cooler with winds from the west.
