Weekly Outlook : 22/11/03-28/11/03
Very wet in southern England this weekend. Colder with rain next week.

Saturday 22/11/03 to Sunday 23/11/03
The weekend weather is now set to be a good deal more unsettled for southern parts, whereas northern parts will be less affected. On Saturday, much of southern England and south Wales will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy and persistent at times. Northern England and Scotland will have a dry but foggy morning, although this should mostly clear to sunny spells by midday. Northern Ireland will have showers, these spreading into western Scotland later. Rain will edge northwards overnight, giving much of England and Wales a wet night, whereas elsewhere it will be mostly dry with fog returning. Rain will affect central and southern England for much of Sunday, with the possibility of localised flooding. Northern parts of England however, along with Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland will be bright with sunny spells and scattered showers, once early mist and fog has cleared. Cold everywhere, especially where the rain lingers.

Monday 24/11/03 to Tuesday 25/11/03
Early rain should clear away from south-east England during Monday morning, but it will remain rather cloudy here. Elsewhere, early fog will clear to give many parts a dry day with sunny spells, the best of the sunshine in the south-west. Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland will become cloudy during the day however, with rain spreading across many parts during the afternoon. Winds will become fresh here, although they should remain light elsewhere. Overnight, the rain will spread south-east across all parts, becoming mostly light and patchy in southern areas. On Tuesday, many places will be cloudy with spells of rain. The heaviest, more persistent outbreaks will be across Scotland and Ireland at first, being replaced by showers during the afternoon. Fresh to strong winds across many parts, with the risk of gales around northern coasts at first. Feeling cold everywhere.

Wednesday 26/11/03 to Friday 28/11/03
The latter part of the week is set to stay unsettled, with outbreaks of rain across all parts. On Wednesday, heavy rain will affect many parts of eastern England and Scotland, with sunny spells and blustery showers following on to many other parts. Feeling cold, especially in the west. By Thursday, many places will have a better day with sunny spells. There will be some heavy showers around though, with the risk of thunder, most frequent in the north where they will turn wintry over the hills. Further outbreaks of rain will sweep across all parts on Friday, with fresh to strong westerly winds. More detail in next week's forecast update.
