Monday 24/03/03 to Tuesday 25/03/03
Notably cloudier than of late, as weak troughs embedded in a southerly flow cross the country. These will produce a scattering of mostly light showers during Monday morning, especially across northern parts. Elsewhere, sunny spells will develop, particularly in the south and east during the afternoon. Cloudier skies will spread into the north-west later, and into Tuesday these will produce outbreaks of light rain or drizzle. Cloudier across southern England on Tuesday also, but elsewhere some sunshine breaking through. Very mild in most parts, perhaps warm where sunshine appears.
Wednesday 26/03/03 to Thursday 27/03/03
High pressure remaining very much in charge, and with a southerly flow maintained it will continue very mild. Many areas will see sunny spells, more especially during Thursday across central and eastern areas, although always more cloud around than last week. Northern and western parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland will be plagued by cloud as fronts will never be too far away. Outbreaks of light rain or drizzle will come and go, although these will gradually clear to the north on Thursday.
Friday 28/03/03 to Sunday 30/03/03
The first signs of a change on Friday, as cloud and showery rain pushes north into southern England. Northern parts will see a return to cloudy skies and patchy rain also, but many other parts will stay fine with warm sunny spells. For the weekend, it's looking likely that cloudier skies will prevail, with spells of showery rain in places. There will also be some brighter interludes, and temperatures will remain above average for late March.
